Dividing Mixed Numbers

When Mixed Numbers are divided, those Mixed Numbers must first be changed to Improper Fractions.

Invert the "divided by" Fraction.

The Numerators are then Multiplied and the Denominators are Multiplied.

RULE

Dividing Mixed Numbers

Change any Mixed Numbers to Improper Fractions.

Invert the Second Fraction, which is the "Divided by Fraction"

Multiply the Numerators to find the Numerator of the answer.

Multiply the Denominators to find the Denominator of the answer.

If the answer is an Improper Fraction, then change it to a Mixed Number.

If the Proper Fraction can be Reduced, then do so.
